When I\nstarted playing in it, it was just a TV movie, and I was just a kid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Out of Sight”<\/strong> \u2013\nproduced by Romanian Public Television. With actors I knew since I was a little\nchild, but also with young actors, whom I met at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were\n4 brothers, me \u2013 the youngest of the girls. A gymnast. A competition gymnast!\nHaving Nadia Comaneci as an idol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nright role, I could say, considering that, as a child, I was a real Nadia on\nthe carpet bar behind the block\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n I liked\nthe idea, I liked the role and I liked a lot that the producers and the\ndirector sent me to have real training in the gym, where I used to learn how to\nmake movements, gestures and simulate starts and landings for the floor\nexercise. Moreover, on the balance beam, I learned to do various things, even some\nspins, which for me was a real trick!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t\nask me about the uneven bars and the vault, because the screenwriter, after all,\ndid not mean to kill me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of\ncourse my number on the floor\/uneven bars\/balance beam\/vault was done in the\nmovie by a real gymnast. With me they filmed only the beginnings and the\nendings, the start and the stops…<\/p>\n\n\n\n When I\nwas going to training, I was fascinated by the work of the gymnasts in the gym.\nThey were just children full of marks on their bodies, with their hands and\nfeet always bandaged, but all the girls were bold, man!<\/p>\n\n\n\n After\nits success as a television film \u2013 it was awarded, in 1986, the Grand Prize at the International Television\nFilm Festival in Prague<\/strong>, they decided to develop it into a series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\ncast underwent some small changes, but I stayed, still playing the role of\nchild of the family and the sportsgirl of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was\nin the national gymnastics team. A great hope of Romanian gymnastics, a\nmiracle, what can I say, the future sounded really good with me J.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For\nauthenticity, we filmed even in Deva town, running with the “colleagues”\non the hill, towards the fortress, until we couldn’t breathe anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I even went with the team to some international competitions. Well, we went to the plane, we filmed a sequence, after which we got off\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was\nalso a gold medalist, climbing on the highest step of the podium. Well, the\npodium was just… a cube, nothing more, in an empty gym, where we were filming\nthe award ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\ngreatest thing was that I got the medal from none other than Maria Simionescu<\/strong> \u2013 the famous\ninternational referee and federal coach, the woman who, together with her\nhusband, laid the foundations of the gymnastics school in Onesti \u2013 I understand\nthat it was the first school in the world with this profile! Cool or what???<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\nremember that I was really excited about the meeting, because I knew her from\nTV, from the big international gymnastics competitions. We saw her there, in\nthe area of \u200b\u200bthe “judges” who were increasing the pulse of us, the\nviewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As the\nfilm went ahead with the production, I got older. From a child, I had already\nbecome a fluffy teenager with a woman’s silhouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I had\nbecome taller, so I had surpassed my older sisters in the movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I no\nlonger looked like a gymnast, although that was still the role. For the\ngymnastics scene, the costumes girls used to press down my boobs, wrapping them\nin some sort of a bandage, as there were no young gymnasts with boobs J)). And\nmy hair \u2013 at that time very long and thick \u2013 was often hidden at the back, if\nit was not tightly tied in a ponytail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nactress who played the middle sister had the role of a teenager in high-school when,\nin reality, I<\/strong> was in high-school and\nshe was an adult already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To solve\nthe situation, the writer began to put some failures of mine as a sports person,\nto get me out of the role of a gymnast slowly-slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n First,\nI broke my leg in a mountain camp. There, I had “skied” with my colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I really\nliked this role of a victim, because my make-up was all white, I was suffering\non the hospital bed with my leg in plaster and I was already thinking about my\nfirst Oscar J.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But,\nbeyond the role in the film, I was glad to have the opportunity to witness a\nreal leg operation, performed on a skier who had really seriously injured\nhimself on the slope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\ndidn’t faint\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.danamladin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/pliant.jpg\")
